what do you do for a living? is it very physical and does it involve your chest and back muscles a lot? as these things are important to give you a proper answer.

Do your pushups and chinups on the same day as they work opposing muscle groups, and this is good. as for when to do your workout, just listen to your body and how you feel. if you are sore in your chest or back then wait another day.

If you have a physically demanding job be sure to eat protein every 2hrs to keep your body in an anabolic state. if you do not feed protein every 2hrs or so then your body starts to break down its muscle to get the amino acids it needs, and this is counter productive. you do not need to eat huge amounts of protein just 10-20 grams.

remember your body will tell you what it needs and when it is stressed or over trained.
