Had the same, doctor told me to relax more, and stop stressing out. Her advice was heat pads, they actually worked quiet well. Also exercising and streching did wonders and I dont get them anymore

THE BEST ADVICE: GO TO THE DOCTOR. You have to do and do it ASAP. You need MRI.

Good luck!

Did you hurt it in the gym, or what were you doing when you noticed the muscle spasms in your back for the first time? Normally skeletal muscle goes into spasm to help splint an injured area of the body, so most likely you hurt something in your back and the muscles are reacting to this and trying to splint the area to prevent movement to help prevent further injury or damage to that area in your back.

Now there are other reasons but without more info this would be my first guess. No matter what the cause it has not gone away in 1 week, so you should go see you doctor and if you can go see a sports doctor as they are much more educated when it comes to skeletal muscle and sports injuries.

good luck bro!
